Chas Maguire regularly plays with the following bands
Powered by the awesome vocals of the cat-suited Duchess, and the amazing guitar work of David Young, Space Elevator are a contemporary take on the classic rock sound. With nods to the music of Queen, Kate Bush and Genesis but with a definitely modern sound – great melodies, thick harmonies and screaming guitar solos all feature! Second album available now, and currently on a UK tour (May – July 2018)
The Missing Persians
Featuring original music written by Chris Cox (pictured right – vocals/acoustic guitar/mandolin), The Missing Persians are described as “Original British Americana” which means bluesy, tex-mex, harmonies and a bit of double bass slapping by yours truly. We’ve been a four-piece band since I joined in May 2013 and been gigging regularly since July of that year and having a lot of fun in the process! We’ve just released our second full length album and you can find it on The Missing Persians Bandcamp page. Website at www.themissingpersians.com or facebook.com/missingpersians
All original saxophone-led funk written by the wonderful Nicholas Blake and featuring Linda Blake on vocals. Tight horns, and a really funky rhythm section (Ritchie Ashton on Drums and Jez Cook on Guitar) – first album (Funk Biscuit) available on download very very soon…!
Blake Shake Funk
Very challenging rock/blues/fusion three piece featuring the wonderful Tony Qunta (gtr & vox) and Roger Batting (drums) from Lost in Music. Great fun to play, if my fingers can keep up with the pace… (Tony enjoys it a lot more than his picture would suggest!)
A fantastic jazz big band, playing some very challenging arrangements of well known pieces, as well as some exciting original compositions, a Blake’s Heaven gig is always great fun!
Function Bands / Party Bands / Covers Bands
Full-on party music ideal for smaller venues where a live band would be too large – featuring Chas on lead guitar (shh, don’t tell the bass guitarists’ society)
Lost In Music
A high-quality function band performing everything from the 50’s to the present day – absolutely non-stop music from start to finish featuring lots of segues and live mash-ups keep the musicians on their toes and the guests on the dance floor. Fantastic fun to play with these guys, and they’re certainly one of the busiest bands I work with so they must be doing something right!
Three-piece rock (or should that be Rawwk!) band featuring Jason Stretch on vocals and guitar, and Jerome Marcus on drums and backing vocals. A great mix of classic rock from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s (yes, the 90s are officially classic now…)
Hot And Horny
Playing prestigious national and international events, Hot and horny has earned its enviable reputation by consistently delivering the ‘wow-factor’ that ensures events are fantastic… and remembered for years to come
